So what does “Jaqu’s” actually mean, and how in the world do you say it (we get that a lot)? Well for starters, we pronounce it “Jacks,” and no, we’re not a French restaurant, or the world famous surf shop in Huntington Beach on Main Street. We are simply a good old classic California style restaurant that doesn’t over-promise or under-deliver tasteful food or a memorable experience. Jaqu’s has a unique story, which is short and sweet.
The owner Duane Westrup, being a well-traveled man who has dined in favorite cities like San Francisco, New York and Chicago among many, all well-known for their vast and savory cuisines, wanted to create a place that felt as comfortable as home and as indulgent and exciting as a classy restaurant. The inspiration and name came to him quite easily, Jaqu, became the abbreviated name of his animated blue-eyed, red-haired, darling 4-year-old granddaughter Jaqueline. And so the stage was set for Jaqu’s to serve as a unified place for all families, friends and others to call their home away from home.
Formerly known as Davios, Jaqu’s has kept a few things that seemed to really please the locals, one being the homemade pasta machine that makes for a creative and classic Italian dish. Another keepsake is the wood-burning stone oven we cook our famously fresh pizzas with.
Everything at Jaqu’s is offered at the peak of its freshness and flavor by serving only farm-grown organic fruits and vegetables, naturally raised meats and the freshest local seafood. It’s our passionate attention to details like these that you’ll appreciate when you savor your dish. Our steaks and chops are seasoned with our authentic rubs and are slow-roasted to maximize tenderness and seal in the one-of-a-kind flavor you can only get from a flame grill.

Towards the weekend when the action starts to really heat up, Jaqu’s offers live entertainment on our stage that really sets the mood for a great night. From Thursday to Sunday nights, we offer music from local acts ranging from light jazz to folk and acoustic rock. Our entertainers are always mindful of your dining experience and there’s no reason you can’t still carry on a great conversation through the act.
