Standing in Peace meets on Tuesdays from 4pm to 5pm at the corner of Irvine Blvd. and Prospect in Tustin. This is not a protest!
This effort is a shift to a slightly different model than what is generally seen in these kinds of activities today. There is no intention to stand 'in favor of' or 'against' anyone or anything. The intention is to express respect for all of life. The idea of standing in peace was chosen rather than the idea of standing for peace because the intention is 'to be the vibration of peace' - first taking individual responsibility for peace within, and then demonstrating that quality of peace as a way of being in the world on a daily basis.
This effort is designed to appeal to anyone who can hold in awareness the vision of standing in peace in any area of life - personal, relationships, home, family, school, community, country, nation, the planet & environment, the universe. The idea is to stand together on common ground without concern for color of clothing, gender, race, ethnicity, age, belief system, religion, political affiliation, agenda, etc.
Many are familiar with the lyrics of a popular spiritual song, "let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me." Common Ground now takes this affirmation into action by intentionally setting aside a time and space to stand together as spiritual community.
Come be the change you want to see in the world. Anyone who wants to stand in peace is invited to join the effort ~ teens, children, parents, grandparents, policemen, business people, retirees, other-abled, disenfranchised, politicians, doctors ~ Everyone is welcome!
