5 funkadelic siblings from the same mom and dad, naturally gifted as a self contained band, performing together since 1973. See this amazing reunion!
Sibling Rivalry is a family from the same mom and dad, naturally gifted as a self contained band. In 1972, James Sr and Joy Harris conceived the family band and bought five siblings rhythm instruments and encouraged them to rehearse a band like other family's making it show business. James, Jeffrey, Julie, Jerrold, and Janine, are another J5 as far as their names are concerned, but as far as their musicianship and song writing skills go, surpass any and all families who have ever hit Hollywood's music industry. There was only one problem and to this day no one really has a clear explanation of why the family never collaborated on one recording project, or marketed their family gift correctly. For years siblings concealed the family band in situations that could have blasted them into international fame. It was 1997 when a bizarre encounter with O. J. Simpson brought the family together to record a 2 song "Memorial CD" in memory of victims of violence. The CD was recorded by family (under the name "J. Harris Band) and dedicated to families who had lost loved ones to violence. Jimi James, the eldest/leader and keeper of the family band concept originated by his his parents, became a volunteer, then Artistic Director with The Nicole Brown (simpson) Foundation and invented ways to use the family gift to help the foundation and families suffering through tragedy.
The story of how O. J. Simpson's attempt to use 4 of the 5 family members to make an errogant statement shortly after being acuited for double murder, backfires and brings the gifted family together for a good cause. This inspired the script "Angel In The Mirror" that is now in the process of being submitted to production companies.
