This is a showcase for hit Nashville and Hollywood songwriters as well as up and coming local songwriters. The series is one year old and occurs on the last Thursday of each month at The Gypsy Lounge in Lake Forest. We would love to share this experience
The “Songwriters Live” series was founded by local songwriter Frank Giampaolo (www.myspace.com/frankgiampaolo) and has featured such accomplished writers as Chuck Cannon (numerous Toby Keith #1s, former NSAI president), Steve Dorff (multi-award winner, many # 1 hits, NSAI Songwriter of the Year, multiple TV and major film scores), Kevin Fisher (2 Gold Records with Sara Evans and 1 Platinum record with Rascal Flatts), Ray Herndon (co-writer of the #1 Kenny Chesney hit “Me and You”, guitarist for Lyle Lovett and founding member of McBride and the Ride), and Bobby Tomberlin (multi-award winner, wrote hit songs “One More Day” and “A Good Day to Run”, written for Faith Hill, Kenny Rogers, and Diamond Rio). This is just to name a few, not to mention the many local songwriters that have gotten to share the stage and learn from the best in the business.
This is an emotional experience; hearing the actual songwriter perform the songs we thought we knew intimately. This showcase allows folks to get to know the person behind the songs, as they share how and why the song came to life.
