Hailing from San Diego, Pinback is a band comprised of core members Armistead Burwell Smith IV (Zach Smith) and Rob Crow. The duo perform in the Samueli Theater.
Pinback started as a part-time endeavor back in 1998, when Smith's band 3 Mile Pilot went on an extended hiatus and he hooked up with Crow. After recording a self-titled debut album, which was released by Ace Fu in 1999, Pinback became a fully realized project. The band’s music has also been featured on the hit shows "The O.C." and "Gossip Girl."
